First Grade Teacher
Welcome! While this is my eleventh year teaching first grade at Schick Elementary, I have been teaching elementary age students for 23 years. Prior to Loyalsock, I had the pleasure of teaching second grade in the East Lycoming School District and the Pocono Mountain School District. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg University and a master’s degree in education from East Stroudsburg University. My family and I also have lived in Loyalsock for the past 18 years. It is truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with children every day! I look forward to greeting the many new faces to my classroom this year and working the families of previous students! Best wishes for a fantastic 2015-2016 school year!

7th Grade Language Arts Teacher
Welcome to Mrs. Rohrer’s 7th Grade ELA Class Website!
About Mrs. Rohrer…
Hello! My name is Beth Rohrer, and I am thrilled to be your child’s English Language Arts teacher this year. This is my 14th year teaching in the Loyalsock Township School District. I previously spent 4 years in second grade and 9 years in fifth grade. However, I began my teaching career teaching second and third grades in the state of New Hampshire starting in 2001.
Here is my educational background. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English/Communication from Cabrini College in 1997. I spent a couple years working as an editor for a couple newspapers (one of my passions is WRITING:) before deciding to return to the classroom to become a teacher. Teaching writing at the middle school level has been a long term goal for me for sometime, so I am elated to be in this new position this year! I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire in 2001. I taught in the state of New Hampshire before moving to Williamsport in 2004. While teaching in Loyalsock, I earned my Middle Level Language Arts (Grades 7-9) certification. I believe in creating a learning community in my classroom where choice in learning, ongoing conversation, and time to collaborate and explore passions are key elements.
I live in Loyalsock with my husband, Chris, my two daughters, Katie (12 years old) and Alyson (9 years old), and my stepdaughter, Lydia (17 years old). We also have a furry family member, a standard poodle, named Ernie. Some things I enjoy doing in my free time are running, reading, and taking walks and bike rides with my family.
Part of being a successful student is being prepared! Please bring the following materials to our class:
- A small binder with wide-ruled loose leaf paper
- Several highlighters
- Lots of pencils, including some colored pencils
- Your charged iPad
If you would like to donate any of the following items to our classroom, it would be greatly appreciated:
- Hand sanitizer
