ESSA requires the Loyalsock Township School District to notify parents and family if their child is being taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher in a Title I school or program who does not yet meet the definition of “appropriate state certification”. Title I schools must meet federal regulations related to teacher qualification as defined in ESEA. These regulations allow you to learn more about your child’s teachers’ training and credentials. Parents (in Title I schools only) are notified annually that they may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher(s), and of paraprofessionals who provide instructional services to their children.

As a parent or family member of a student attending a school that is receiving Federal Title I dollars, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the teacher(s) and instructional paraprofessional(s) who instruct your child. Federal law requires every Title I school district to comply and to provide you with the requested information in a timely manner. We are happy to provide this information to you.
At any time, you may ask:
