Rules

A quality Physical Education program does not just happen.   It takes a well-planned curriculum, advanced preparation, and classroom management strategies. When these areas are achieved, the program consists of fun, vigorous activity, with little standing around. At Schick Elementary, we work hard and play hard to achieve a quality Physical Education program that develops a child’s strength, flexibility, and endurance; teaches athletic skills; and promotes a lifetime love of exercise and sports.

Sock Rules
At Donald E. Schick, we follow the school-wide SOCKS rules in Physical Education class and always try to do our best.

Shhh… Listen and follow directions.

Only use kind words and actions.

Care for our school.

Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Stay in line walking quietly.

All students are expected to participate in regularly scheduled PE classes. If your child cannot participate in classes, please provide medical documentation or a parent note.

Students should wear sneakers during physical education classes. This type of footwear provides the child with some built-in safety features. Please do no allow your child to wear crocs, flip flops, sandals, high-heeled shoes, or boots.

Lost and Found Items
Lost and found items tend to occur most when children are dressing in layers to stay warm. As a result many children take off their sweatshirts and jackets at recess or gym class and forget to take them back to class with them. If a child’s name is written inside the clothing that is found, it makes it easy for us to deliver the lost item to its rightful owner. Please write your child’s name in all sweatshirts and jackets.
