Welcome back to a new school year! I will be providing your child with pencils, crayons, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, and dry erase markers. There may come a point in the school year that our supplies run low and I may need to ask for donations, but for now, your child is all set with those items!
YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE:
– a full size backpack
– a standard size plastic pencil box
– a water bottle that can be closed
– one small daily snack
YOU MAY WANT TO PROVIDE:
– individual pocket sized tissue packet
– individual pocket sized hand sanitizer
– headphones or earbuds for the chrome books
– hand wipes/baby wipes to keep in desk
*** The following are items that we often need in our classroom and are used by everyone. Donations would be greatly appreciated!
Boys, please bring: Girls, please bring:
– 1 extra package of glue sticks – 1 extra package of BLACK expo dry erase markers
– 1 rectangular box of tissues – 1 extra bottle of hand sanitizer
** This year, our class is being split up for specials due to the number of first grade homerooms. Please refer to your individualized “Specials Schedule” that will come home with your child during the first week of school. As a good rule of thumb, please consider sending your child to school in comfortable clothing and shoes as we do go out for recess every day. **
My name is Jackie Puckey and I was born and raised across the river in South Williamsport. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to teach young children. Throughout my teen and young adult years, I spent most of my time babysitting and working at the South Side Pool, where I spent my summers coaching the South Williamsport Summer Swim Team, teaching swim lessons, and working as a lifeguard and eventually Pool Manager. All this experience working with and being around children only helped me realize what I wanted to spend my life doing… teaching and inspiring children and helping them find success.
I graduated from Clarion University in 2006 with a B.S.Ed in Early Childhood Education and received my Masters of Arts in Education from George Mason University in 2012. I worked as a day-to-day substitute teacher in several local schools from June 2006-June 2007 until I moved to Northern Virginia, where I taught Kindergarten for the Prince William County School District from August 2007-June 2013. I moved back to the area during the summer of 2013 where I was lucky enough to be hired here in Loyalsock. I am so excited to be in my ninth year teaching first grade at Schick Elementary!
My husband Jason and I just celebrated ten years of marriage and have three beautiful daughters, Cecilia (4), Mary (2), and Eloise (6 months).
