2018-2019 DISTRICT GOALS

Student Achievement

  • Provide all students with a deep understanding of subject matter that enables them to apply what they have learned effectively to a wide range of problems.
  • Ensure that Loyalsock Township School District high school graduates are College and Career Ready students who can succeed in both 2-year and 4-year college programs that will prepare them for both work and further education.

Curriculum Framework

  • Provide a high-quality aligned instructional system from grades K-12 with well designed curriculum frameworks. Specific focus will be on grades K-8 and curriculum alignment from grades 6-12 will also be reviewed and revised as necessary.
  • Continue to align our courses and adjust instruction to meet the requirements of the PA and Common Core Standards.

Professional Development

  • Provide employees with professional development that exposes them to best practices and research both in the United States and the world. Share the information gained through professional development with other teachers in our District.
  • Continue to customize professional development for professional staff members that allows us to prepare students for College and Career Readiness and to meet the requirements of the Future Ready PA Index.

Climate and Culture

  • Establish a District-wide school climate and culture where all students and employees feel that they belong, what they do matters and mutual respect is shared between the employees and the students.
  • Provide opportunities for parent and guardians to connect with the Loyalsock Township School District including back to school nights, community meetings, interviews, and surveys.

Communication

  • Look to increase our communications with students and families and streamline our communications process with a software program that will push information to multiple media sites.
  • Establish business, educational, and community partnerships that benefit the students of Loyalsock Township School District.

Technology

  • Continuously monitor our technology resources against virus attacks and review our recovery plan. Ensure that we are able to recover in a timely manner after disruptions or attacks.
  • Use technology resources to effectively support the instruction, communications and operations of the District.
