Open Enrollment

Each year, there is an Open Enrollment period, allowing employees the opportunity to review their current benefit selections and make changes if desired. Once desired benefits are selected, employees will not be able to make changes during the plan year unless there is a life qualifying event. The Loyalsock Township School District benefit plan year is July 1 through June 30. The Open Enrollment period will begin May 3, 2024, and end on May 20, 2024, for benefit elections effective July 1, 2024.

Everyone must complete the Open Enrollment process. Even those who waive the insurance benefits or do not have any changes. 

To begin the Open Enrollment process: Please log in to your staff portal, from My Information> Insurance tab, review your current insurance information, then select the “Benefit Enrollment” button to complete the enrollment process.  This button will be available from 05/03/2024 to 05/20/2024. Make sure to first collect all dependent information needed to verify or set up your dependent’s information. Changes made to your insurance elections and/or deductions will take effect on 07/01/2024.

Eligible employees may have the option to continue participation in their PPO Plan C or elect to participate in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP) combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA). As a participant in the QHDHP, you may contribute additional pre-tax funds to your HSA up to allowable IRS limits.

If you enroll in the Qualified High Deductible, you will participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA). Refer to your bargaining unit contract for the district’s contribution to your HSA, which will be used for qualified medical, dental and vision expenses. You may add pre-tax payroll contributions to your HSA on a biweekly basis. Wex Health will manage your HSA.
