The mission of the Loyalsock Township School District School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and developmental school counseling program that addresses academic, career and social/emotional needs of each student. In partnership with our schools, families, and community, the school counselors support and inspire students to reach their fullest potential.
Academic
School counselors help students create an academic plan for their education to prepare for successful careers after graduation and help students develop the necessary skills, such as organizational, time management, and study skills.
Career
School Counselors assist students in career awareness, exploration, and planning in order to prepare them for success in post-secondary education and a rapidly changing workplace.
Social/ Emotional
School Counselors offer conflict resolution strategies and individual counseling opportunities as the need arises.
In our continuing efforts to support the Social/Emotional well-being of all our students, we will be utilizing the platform Rhithm. Students will complete a brief 5 question check-in to gauge their well-being each week. Based on their responses, students are directed to a short well-being video tailored to their current needs. Rhithm aims to help students identify and manage their feelings, building essential life skills like focus and stress management. Teachers use this program to better understand students’ needs and create a positive, supportive learning environment. This program is designed to ensure your child feels ready to learn and thrive every day! Together, this information helps us to understand the needs of all our students and to make effective plans at the whole school, class, and individual level. If you would like more information, please view this Introduction letter from Rhithm with more specific information. If you have additional questions you can contact Mrs. Kendall Sauers.
Consultation and Collaboration
School counselors address the academic and developmental needs of all students, not just those in need, by collaborating with students, parents, school staff and the community.
