The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a practice version of the SAT. It is scheduled to occur during the school day on Wednesday, October 12 at Loyalsock Township High School. Any junior or sophomore interested in pursuing higher education after high school should consider taking the PSAT. This test is especially important for juniors, as it is the only way to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship.

Students can register for the PSAT with Mrs. LaPoint in the High School Counseling Office starting on Monday, September 26. Please know that the PSAT is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 4, if we still have exams available at that time.

The cost of the PSAT is $18. Payment is required at the time of registration. Please bring an exact cash payment or a check made payable to “LTHS.” Juniors, if you will have difficulty paying this fee, please reach out to Mrs. Rippey to see if you qualify for a fee waiver. Sophomores do not qualify for a fee waiver for the PSAT.
