Lester L. Greevy Secondary Campus Media Center
The Lester L. Greevy Media Center is located at the center of the secondary campus and welcomes students as a center of learning and growth. Whether visiting for reading, research, study, collaboration, creation, or direct learning we are hopeful to provide accommodation as well as support. The library staff is eager to help with all of your research, materials and pleasure reading needs. Please feel free to ask Mr. Van Fleet or additional Library staff members for assistance at any time. We will work hard to provide for your resource needs.
Library Hours
The library is open and staffed from 7:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Individual students and/or entire classes are welcome to visit and use all services and products within the library.
Student Facility Use
Individual students must have a library pass (e-hall pass) in order to be admitted to the library during regular school hours. Library passes may be obtained from a classroom teacher, library aid, or librarian. All students must present a pass to the adult at the circulation desk upon entering the library and sign in using a physical sign-in sheet. The general expectation for library use is individual initiatives, but collaboration is welcome via high-top tables as well as Apple TV airplay. When collaborating, it is essential that student conversations are done so in a manner that will not disturb others.
Classroom Instruction Facility Use
Classroom instruction takes place in the media center as direct instruction provided by our librarian to high school and middle school students as well as through hosting dual enrollment and independent study coursework. Each period or block the library is bustling with a combination of methods of instruction and learning. In order to secure use of a specific location, feel free to contact me via email at jvanfleet@loyalsocklancers.org or to stop down and check the signup calendar located on the circulation desk. Library location photographs and descriptions for reservation are listed below:
Faculty Facility Use
Teachers can reserve a full space and time via email. Media Center spaces available are the Library Main, Computer Lab, Mac Lab, Library Classroom, and the Media Suite. Each space is prepared to host needs of groups or individuals with casting ability available for instruction, demonstration, or collaboration. We are hopeful to grow this aspect of library use in order to support more efficient and space appropriate learning and growth of the student body. We are also excited to gather and create a professional library section for educators learning and growing in the teaching profession.
