Scholarships & Financial Aid

All scholarships that come through the counselors’ offices will be uploaded to this page. Our hope is that this makes scholarship information more accessible to all of our students and their families. Please see below for currently available scholarships and continue to check this site often; it will be updated with new scholarships as they are shared with the Counseling Office. Scholarships are in order of deadline, starting with most recent. Click on the scholarship link below for information and/or the actual application in order to apply.

  • Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference (PHAC) ScholarshipDeadline: January 10, 2025 – Open to high school seniors who have earned at least one varsity letter in a PIAA recognized sport. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have a verified post-secondary education entrance score (ACT or SAT).
  • PIAA District IV Jack Zeigler and Mike Schwarz Scholarship, Deadline: January 10, 2025 – Open to high school seniors who have earned at least one varsity letter in a PIAA recognized sport. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have a verified post-secondary education entrance score (ACT or SAT).
  • The Lehigh Valley Professional Section of Society of Women Engineers ScholarshipDeadline: February 2, 2025 – Open to high school senior women in Pennsylvania who intend to major in engineering at their respective college or university. Evaluation is based on academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership activities, an evaluation form, and an original essay.
  • First Commonwealth Bank Scholarship, Deadline: February 28, 2025 – Open to seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (85%) from one of the following Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Bucks, Butler, Cambria, Centre, Chester, Clearfield, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Elk, Indiana, Jefferson, Lancaster, Lawrence, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Somerset, Union, Washington, and Westmoreland.
  • Edward W. Claudius Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: March 7, 2025 – This award will be given to a graduating senior from a Lycoming County high school who will be attending the Pennsylvania State University (any campus, but not Penn College) in the fall of 2025 for a four-year degree program. Applicants must submit an application and an essay.
  • The Frerichs ScholarshipDeadline: March 14, 2025 – Open to high school seniors in a public education school in Pennsylvania who are planning to enroll in an education-related major at a Pennsylvania State System school and have a demonstrated track record of leadership during their high school tenure.
  • The Marcus ScholarshipDeadline: March 14, 2025 – Open to high school seniors in a public education school in Pennsylvania who are planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in public safety, criminology, forensics or other law-enforcement/safety majors.
  • The H.H. Quimby ScholarshipDeadline: March 14, 2025 – Open to high school seniors in a public education school in Pennsylvania who have demonstrated a track record of leadership and service during their high school tenure and plan to pursue a degree focused on policy, political science, advocacy or non-profit management.
  • The Swope Scholarship, Deadline: March 14, 2025 – Open to high school seniors in a public education school in Pennsylvania who are planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the arts.
  • Horizon Federal Credit Union Scholarship, Deadline: March 28, 2025 – Open to high school seniors who are an active member of the Horizon Federal Credit Union, have a 2.5 GPA or higher, and have been accepted as a full-time student at a college or university.
  • The EQT Energize Your Education Scholarship, Deadline: March 31, 2025 – This scholarship program offers one-time $10,000 academic scholarships to high school seniors with a 3.0 or higher who are planning to study engineering, earth science, IT, cyber security or other natural gas industry-related field in either a 4-year or 2-year program.
  • Robert E. Barbour Scholarship FundDeadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County who plan to pursue a career as a pharmacist. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • CAG Supporting Momentum Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County high schools who plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education and have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B). This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • FCFP Regional Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to graduating students from a high school (public, private, parochial, or home-schooled) located in Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, or Union County who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school that offers a two (2) or four (4) year degree or certification program. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Evelyn Gehr and Stanly Gehr Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who plan to pursue a degree in the arts, dance, film, media arts, music, or theater. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • ISCALC International Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County who plan to pursue major coursework in the area of international studies, including but not limited to international affairs, foreign languages, overseas exchange programs, multicultural studies, or related areas. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Kenneth and Marcia Johnson Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors who reside in Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Tioga, Snyder, Sullivan, or Union County. Applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled into either a full-time accredited undergraduate degree program or accredited technical/trade school and have a demonstrated financial need. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Richard P. Lauchle Forestry Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to students accepted or currently enrolled in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Forest Technology program or accepted or currently enrolled in any other accredited Forest Technology program. Student must be a current resident of Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Juniata, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Sullivan or Union Counties of Pennsylvania. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Tim Lichter Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors who will attend, part-time or full-time, an accredited motorcycle mechanic school. Additional consideration will be given for automotive technology, service technician, or welding. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Jody Lea Loudenslager Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County who are a current Glenn O. Hawbaker employee or a child of a current Glenn O. Hawbaker employee. Student must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Albert and Alice Nacinovich Music Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County who plan to pursue a degree in music education or a music-related field of study and have maintained a grade point average of 80 or higher. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • PSCA 2025 ScholarshipDeadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Pennsylvania who are planning to pursue a post-secondary education at a 2 or 4-year institution or a trade school. Applicants are required to write an essay on a School Counselor who has made a difference in their academic, career and/or social-emotional development.
  • Shirley Gray Rightmire Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County high schools who plan to pursue a degree in Education. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Dr. Wayne F. Rose Scholarship, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who plan to pursue a degree in education. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • T-Ross Brothers Construction Scholarship I and II, Deadline: April 1, 2025 – Open to seniors from a high school in Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder or Union County who plan to attend an accredited college/university, vocational school or trade school and pursue a degree in a construction-related field of study. Must have maintained at least a B average. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
  • Mary Ann Fox Scholarship, Deadline: April 3, 2025 – Open to seniors in Clinton or Lycoming County who are planning to attend full-time one of the following: Lock Haven University, Bucknell University, Lycoming College, Pennsylvania College of Technology or Pennsylvania State University.
  • Hailey L. Bilbay Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA who intend to pursue a degree in a health or medical-related field.
  • Walter “Bud” Black Memorial Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have demonstrated courage, a caring and cooperative attitude, and a generous spirit.
  • The DiMarco Scholarship Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA who have learned the art of “balance” between their academics, involvement in school extracurricular activities, and an outside-of-school activity (this can include a part-time job, volunteerism, and/or an activity/leadership role that takes up a lot of time). Applicants must plan to pursue a degree at a 2 or 4-year school/program.
  • Richard C. Haas Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who exemplify leadership in our school and local community.
  • The Christian Houghtaling Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who are involved in the LTHS band and have an overall GPA of a 90% or higher.
  • The Jack F. Kettler Jr. Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have earned a minimum of a 90% overall GPA (weighted) and have played a sport for LTHS during their time in high school. The senior who receives this award must plan on attending a four year college or university.
  • Nissa Myers Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have an overall GPA of a 2.7 or higher and treat others with respect and empathy. To be eligible, applicants must be planning to further their education in the fall of 2025 and majoring in one of the following: education, health/medical field, or an animal health profession.
  • Loyalsock Township Education Association Scholarship, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who intend to pursue a degree in education.
  • Loyalsock Township Education Support Professionals Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have been enrolled for the entire 2024-2025 school year. Applicants must be planning to attend an institution of higher learning after graduation.
  • Shuman Miller Memorial Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have demonstrated servant leadership by volunteering and participating in community service that improves the lives of others.
  • Richard L. & Miriam L. Swan Mix Student Historian AwardDeadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County. Student must visit the Thomas T. Taber Museum on Fourth Street in Williamsport and write an essay about the artifacts.
  • Ronald S. Warren Social Studies Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have a 90% or higher GPA in their Social Studies coursework.
  • Corporal Thomas D. West Memorial Award, Deadline: April 4, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors to honor a student in the top half of the senior class who is committed to pursuing a career in law enforcement.
  • Williamsport Women’s Tennis League Graduation AwardDeadline: April 5, 2025 – Open to Lycoming County female seniors that participated on the high school tennis team and plan to continue their education at a 2 or 4-year college. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
  • American Legion Post #1 Scholarship, Deadline: April 11, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors. Recipient must be of good moral character, have a good academic record, and have demonstrated public service to the school and/or community.
  • Loyalsock Township Lions Club Scholarship, Deadline: April 11, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors planning to attend a two or a four-year college. The recipients must be of good moral character, show a need, have a good academic record, and have demonstrated public service to the school and/or community.
  • The Hannah B. Lynn Scholarship, Deadline: April 11, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors,  this award recognizes students who possess an outstanding creative capacity in one or more artistic fields (music, photography, drawing, pottery, writing, poetry, etc.). Eligible applicants may plan to seek a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree, or a trade or vocational certification immediately upon graduation.
  • Carl E. Stotz Little League Baseball Scholarship, Deadline: April 11, 2025 – Open to seniors at LTHS who rank within the top 25% of students in the Class of 2025.
  • Kay Ertel Scholarship, Deadline: April 12, 2025 – Open to senior girls in Lycoming County who are interested in public service and plan to pursue a degree after graduation.
  • The DuBoistown Garden Club ScholarshipDeadline: April 15, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County who plan to study one of the following: Horticulture, Landscape, Floral Design, Environmental Science/Engineering, Nature Conservation, Recycling, Waste Management, Sustainability Consulting, etc.
  • Road to Safety ScholarshipDeadline: April 15, 2025 – Open to seniors in Pennsylvania who plan to attend a college or university in the fall of 2025.
  • Dempsey Family Scholarship, Deadline: April 16, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors. Emphasis will be on school participation (extracurricular activities) and/or community service.
  • Military Service Appreciation Award, Deadline: April 16, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who are committed to joining any branch of the military upon graduation, including: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard, or National Guard.
  • Robert W. Grantier Memorial Scholarship, Deadline: April 16, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who are in good academic standing and possess strong leadership qualities in both the school and our community.
  • Lester L. Greevy Memorial Athletic Scholarship, Deadline: April 16, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have demonstrated leadership, enthusiasm, dedication, courage, and have lettered in a varsity sport at LTHS.
  • The LTSD Athletic Director’s Award, Deadline: April 16, 2025 – Open to LTHS student athletes. Applicants must have an overall GPA of a 95% or higher by the end of semester 1 of their senior year. Applicants may have never earned lower than an 80% in any course throughout their high school experience. Finally, applicants must have earned at least 5 Varsity letters throughout their time in high school (or awarded 4 as of mid-year and currently are participating in a spring sport). Note: Any student who applies for this award, meeting the above requirements, will be recognized as an LTSD Scholar Athlete at the Senior Award Ceremony.
  • Loyalsock Community Father’s Day 5K Scholarship, Deadline: April 22, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors. Applicants must submit an essay describing how their faith will impact their future choices and ultimate career path. Also requires a form from applicant’s spiritual leader/pastor to complete.
  • 2025 Fairfield/Dick Staib Memorial ScholarshipDeadline: April 24, 2025 –  Open to seniors in Lycoming County who in Fall of 2025 will be attending a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
  • The PALCO Members Helping Members Scholarship, Deadline: April 25, 2025 – Open to seniors who are a member in good standing with PALCO Federal Credit Union for six months or more. Senior must be entering an accredited college, university, or other recognized institution of higher learning full time in the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Loyalsock Odyssey of the Mind Senior Award, Deadline: April 26, 2025 – Open to LTHS seniors who have participated as a Loyalsock Odyssey of the Mind team member for a total of three years. The years do not have to be consecutive and can be any time between Kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Loyalsock Creek Men’s Club Scholarship, Received by: April 30, 2025 – Open to seniors in Lycoming County with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and are planning to attend an accredited institution of high education or a technical school.
  • The Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation ScholarshipDeadline: May 2, 2025 – Open to seniors in Pennsylvania who will be attending a Pennsylvania two- or four-year college or university in the Fall of 2025 to pursue a course of study in History or an allied field.
  • Dean Stroop Memorial ScholarshipDeadline: May 5, 2025 – This scholarship is available to any graduating senior in Lycoming County actively involved in dance, music, and/or theatre.  Applicants do not need to be pursuing these in college.
  • Business Management Tuition ScholarshipDeadline: May 15, 2025 – Open to students in Lycoming County pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Business Management and have been accepted and enrolled in one of the following institutions: Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University, or Lock Haven University.
  • Girlz in the Hoodie Scholarship, Deadline: May 16, 2025 – Awarded to one graduating senior from each local high school who is furthering their education and has lost their biological, adoptive or stepmother to breast cancer at any time in their life, has a mother/primary female caregiver who is currently battling breast cancer and undergoing surgery and/or chemotherapy, OR has a guardian that is a breast cancer survivor/in remission.
  • Taylor J. Ertel Scholarship for Foster ChildrenDeadline: Open deadline – Open to PA residents who have been placed in foster care by a child welfare agency at some point in their lives. Applicants have been admitted to a program of study: training may range from short vocational courses through college and graduate study. This award is sponsored through the First Community Foundation and applicants will need to create an account and complete their application in the FCP portal (which can be found by clicking on the name of this award).
