Biography

Welcome to Mrs. Rohrer’s 7th Grade ELA Class Website!
About Mrs. Rohrer…
Hello! My name is Beth Rohrer, and I am thrilled to be your child’s English Language Arts teacher this year. This is my 14th year teaching in the Loyalsock Township School District. I previously spent 4 years in second grade and 9 years in fifth grade.  However, I began my teaching career teaching second and third grades in the state of New Hampshire starting in 2001.

Here is my educational background. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English/Communication from Cabrini College in 1997.  I spent a couple years working as an editor for a couple newspapers (one of my passions is WRITING:) before deciding to return to the classroom to become a teacher.  Teaching writing at the middle school level has been a long term goal for me for sometime, so I am elated to be in this new position this year!  I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire in 2001.  I taught in the state of New Hampshire before moving to Williamsport in 2004.  While teaching in Loyalsock, I earned my Middle Level Language Arts (Grades 7-9) certification.  I believe in creating a learning community in my classroom where choice in learning, ongoing conversation, and time to collaborate and explore passions are key elements.

I live in Loyalsock with my husband, Chris,  my two daughters, Katie (12 years old) and Alyson (9 years old), and my stepdaughter, Lydia (17 years old). We also have a furry family member, a standard poodle, named Ernie.  Some things I enjoy doing in my free time are running, reading, and taking walks and bike rides with my family.
