WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (NOV. 2, 2026) — The Loyalsock Township High School drama program is preparing to bring its annual fall production to the stage later this month.
“Enter the Body” is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, with a matinee performance scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15.
Written and adapted for the stage by Joy McCullough, imagines what happens when the tragic women of William Shakespeare’s plays gather beneath the stage to reflect on their stories and the fates they were given. Led by Juliet, who is tired of reliving her tragic ending night after night, the women revisit their stories from “Romeo and Juliet,” “Hamlet,” “King Lear” and “Titus Andronicus,” questioning how their lives might have unfolded if they had been given more control over their own destinies.
Blending humor with themes of identity, resilience and self-determination, “Enter the Body” offers a reexamination of Shakespeare’s female characters and the roles they play in his tragedies.
The production features 27 LTHS students, including 15 cast members and 12 crew members. Leading the cast are Mickey Flournoy-Brown as Juliet, Hannah Bastian as Cordelia, Emily Harer as Ophelia and Rebecca Winter as Lavinia.
Director Sierra Barnes said audiences can expect to see four of Shakespeare’s most tragic leading ladies challenge the fates decided for them as they work together to explore what happens when a young woman takes control of her own story.
“This show creates an empowering narrative that allows actors and audience members alike to think about the expectations (girls) have been taught to trust over the instincts they are born with,” Barnes said. “This cast and crew wear their hearts on their sleeves and allow their passion to lead the way. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
Tickets will be available at the door for $12 for adults and $8 for students.
