(NOV. 3, 2026) — The Loyalsock Township Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade band has been selected to perform at the 2027 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Conference, earning the distinction through a competitive audition process that included approximately 100 ensembles from across the state.

Under the direction of Middle School Band Instructor and Music Curriculum Chair David Tini, the ensemble has been invited to present a 30-minute performance at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie on April 15, 2027. The performance will feature selections from its school-year repertoire, with an anticipated audience of music educators, college professors and students, and music industry representatives from across the state.

The selection marks a significant achievement for the students and the district. The 2026-27 LTMS seventh- and eighth-grade band becomes just the fourth ensemble in district history to receive an invitation to perform at the conference.

Tini credited the accomplishment to the students’ dedication and the collective efforts of the district’s music department, teachers, administrators and staff.

“Achievements like this are built through countless hours of dedication and the daily work that often happens outside the spotlight,” Tini said. “Our students have spent years developing their musicianship, embracing challenges and building the skills that allow them to perform at such a high level. We are incredibly proud of them and look forward to representing Loyalsock Township and our community on one of the state’s most prestigious stages.”

The invitation adds to the district’s longstanding tradition of excellence in music education. Loyalsock earned the NAMM Foundation’s Best Communities for Music Education designation for the 16th consecutive year this year, while the Donald E. Schick Elementary School music program received the 2026 Advocacy in Action Award for Elementary Excellence from Music for All.

Tini said he’s grateful for everyone who has played a part in this journey.

“We are incredibly proud of these students and look forward to representing and championing LTSD through music at the 2027 PMEA All-State Conference,” Tini said.
